Sunyani, July 9, GNA - Nana Takyi Abeam, the ‘Dwanetuahene’ of the Sunyani Traditional Area, has called for unity and a healthy relationship among the chiefs and members of the Sisala community and others in the Zongo within the Sunyani Municipality.
He said this would accelerate holistic development not only in the Zongo community but in the entire municipality.
Nana Abeam made the call over the weekend at the installation ceremonies of two chiefs and three Imams of the Sunyani Sisala community.
He urged the public to offer the chiefs and the Imams maximum support because any leader anywhere could only be effective with the cooperation of his subjects.
The chiefs are: Kuolu Bayiglo Abdul Aziz Ali Musah IV, the Sisala chief; and Hemmise Kuolu Annadwonkyie Abubakari Adamah IV, the youth chief (Sisala Samare).
Imam Mohamed Salifu is the Sisala Chief Imam and Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakari Sadik and Alhaji Haruna Munim Abdulia as the first and second Deputy Chief Imams respectively.
Chief Kuolu Musah IV succeeded Nana Awudu Nelson, who was installed in 2010 but was destooled on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 by Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawri II, the Paramount Chief of Sunyani on grounds of gross disrespect towards the elders and sub-chiefs of the Sunyani Sisala Community.
Earlier in a welcoming address ‘Abusuapanin’ Baba Salifu Abubakari (the Head of the Sisala Family in Sunyani) assured Nana Nkrawri II and the members of the Sunyani Traditional Council that they (Sisala people) would continue to be law-abiding and assist in promoting peace for the progress of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
