Accra, March 14, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court has remanded an unemployed man for allegedly possessing one slab of compressed leaves and 101 wrappers of same suspected to be Cannabis.
Isaac Nkrumah Akakodjo, 29, pleaded not guilty to possession of the Narcotic drugs.
He will make his next appearance on Monday, March 18.
Police Inspector Samuel Ahiabor told the Court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh that the complainants were police personnel stationed at the Baatsona Police Divisional Headquarters, whiles the accused person resides at Cambodia, Spintex Road in Accra.
He said on March 1, at about 1400hours, Police personnel were on patrol duties at the Kotobabi Market, also on the Spintex Road and spotted Akakodjo in a taxi cab with a bag and became suspicious of him.
Inspector Ahiabor said the complainants stopped the cab and searched the accused.
He said the personnel retrieved the compressed slab and 101 wrappers of dried leaves and also a pair of scissors, twelve king size cigarette packets and a cash of GHC13.00 in the back-pack of the accused.
Prosecution said together with the exhibits, Akakodjo was handed over to the Baatsona Divisional Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations.
He said in his caution statement, the accused mentioned one Kwaku as his source of supply but failed to lead police to him.
The Prosecution said the exhibits have since been forwarded to the Police Forensic Labouratory for examination and report.
