Amasaman (G/A), Jan. 31, GNA – Mr Clement Wilkinson, the Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, has presented 500 dual desks to the Amasaman Municipal Directorate of Education to be distributed to schools in the area.
The items would be shared among seven circuit schools at Amasaman, Sarpeiman, Ayikai Doblo, Manhean, Mayera, Medie, Kwashiekumah and Odumase Amanfro.
Mr Wilkinson, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Amasaman after the presentation, said the gesture was to enhance teaching and learning in the schools and that additional 500 dual desks would be provided to cover other schools.
He commended the students of Nana Boateng Twumasi Institute, the manufacturers of the desks, for finishing the work on time and asked for support for the Institute so that the students could acquire more skills to help develop the country.
Mr Samuel Narh Kodji, the Municipal Director of Education for Ga West Municipal Assembly, expressed gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive for the donation and said the items would be fairly shared among the schools to improve teaching and learning.
He advised children in the area to be punctual at school and to take their studies seriously to enable to become responsible leaders in future.
