Samia Yaba Nkrumah, the daughter of Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah, recently visited the residents of Elubo and its environs in the Jomoro Constituency.
The visit was part of her ongoing efforts to connect with the people of Ghana and understand their needs and concerns.
Elubo is a small town located on the border between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. It is known for its vibrant market and bustling trade activities. During her visit, Samia Yaba Nkrumah took the time to meet with local residents and listen to their stories and experiences.
One of the agenda is to set up a chocolate factory to augment and add value to the abundance of cocoa in the area. Her visit took her to Cocoa Town, Ghana Nungua, Asuano and its adjoining towns and cottages.
One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of the various cottages in Elubo. These cottages are traditional Ghanaian homes made of mud and thatch, and they provide a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region. Samia Yaba Nkrumah was impressed by the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into building these cottages, and she praised the residents for preserving their cultural traditions.
During her visit, Samia Yaba Nkrumah also had the opportunity to speak with local leaders and community members about the challenges they face. One of the main issues that came up was the lack of access to clean water and sanitation facilities.
Many residents rely on contaminated water sources, leading to health problems and diseases. Samia Yaba Nkrumah promised to work with local authorities to address this issue and improve access to clean water for the people of Elubo.
Another issue that was raised during the visit was the lack of economic opportunities in the area. Many residents struggle to make ends meet and provide for their families. Samia Yaba Nkrumah pledged to support local entrepreneurs and small businesses, and to create more job opportunities for the people of Elubo.
Overall, the visit was a success and the residents of Elubo were grateful for the opportunity to meet with Samia Yaba Nkrumah. They appreciated her genuine interest in their well-being and her commitment to improving their lives. As she left the town, Samia Yaba Nkrumah promised to return soon and continue working with the people of Elubo to build a better future for all in Jomoro.
In conclusion, Samia Yaba Nkrumah’s visit to Elubo was a powerful reminder of the importance of connecting with the people and understanding their needs. By listening to their stories and experiences, she was able to gain valuable insights into the challenges they face and the opportunities for growth and development in the region.
Her commitment to supporting the people of Elubo and working towards positive change is truly inspiring, and serves as a shining example of leadership and compassion in action.
