Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowship supports health facility

Tarkwa, June 27, GNA – The Association of Methodists Men’s Fellowship has raised funds to support the Health Facility at Aowin-Kwawu in the Tarkwa Diocese.

The target is to raise GH¢21,000.00 to help roof the Administrative and Clinic Units of the facility.

This was made known at the just-ended 10th Biennial Delegates’ Conference of the Association at Tarkwa in the Western Region.

The three-day Conference was attended by over 800 delegates drawn from the entire Connexion, including delegates from the North America Mission, the United Kingdom and Benin.

It was on the theme, “Go and Make Disciples of All Nations; Sustaining Our Gains through effective Stewardship: Men’s Fellowships’ Perspective.”

The Very Reverend Nana Apau Gyekye, the Connexional Chaplain, led the congregation in prayer sessions dedicated to reviving the Church and its mandate in transforming society.

The devotion, which was themed “Ebenezer”, Very Rev. Nana Apau Gyekye inspired the delegates that despite all challenges they go through, “they shall have their “Ebenezer. The only condition is to remain faithful in the Lord”.

The Most Rev. Titus Kofi Awotwi Pratt, the Administrative Bishop of the Church, urged the Men’s Fellowship to mobilise their gain through members to expand the work of the Church.

He said: “Our percentage in the total Church statistics must be improved”, emphasised that, the Men’s projects and contributions have really sustained the growth of the Church.

He, therefore, encouraged the men to continue to support God’s work. 

The Lay President, Mr Bernard Kwesi Botwe, emphasised on the need to make an integrated approach to spread their efforts throughout the country.

That, he said, could be achieved through attracting the young men in the Church to bring active vibrancy into the Association.

“Those with their own businesses, should employ or support the growing generation to keep our men active in the Church,” he said.

The Benin delegates presented a package to the immediate Past Chairman, Mr Hayford Asare Bekoe as part of their appreciations to the warm gestures and support in developing their Fellowships in Benin.

They expressed their excitement about the organisation and orderliness in the conference procedures and pledged their preparedness to work together as partners in the Men’s Fellowship.

The conference was climaxed by the election of new executives to manage the Connexion.

The newly elected Chairman, Mr George Opare Baidu, appealed to the Conference to continue to support the Clinic as their religious obligation towards the society.
