Driver grabbed for defiling three-year-old girl

Accra, April 5, GNA - Steven Donkor, a 29-year-old driver accused of defiling a three-year-old girl at Lashibi after inserting his finger into her private part was on Thursday remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit Court.

Donkor charged with defilement pleaded not guilty would reappear on April 17 before the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin –Doku.

Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Agnes Boafo said the complainant is the mother of the victim and resides at Nungua while Donkor lives at Lashibi.

ASP Boafo said Donkor has been using a gym located in the house of the victim.

Prosecution said on March 24, this year, between 19:30 hours and 20:00 hours the complainant left her children aged nine and three years in her room to attend to nature’s call behind the house.

Donkor came around and saw the victim and her brother alone in the complainant’s room.

According to prosecution, Donkor took advantage of the absence of the complainant and defiled the victim while her brother was fast asleep.

Two days after the incident, prosecution said at about 18:15 hours, the victim informed the complainant whiles bathing her that Donkor inserted his fingers into her private part and later had sex with her.

A report was made to the Police where a medical report form was issued for the victim to seek medical care. When the Police received the medical report form, Donkor was arrested.
