Accra, April 05, GNA - Hearts of Oak artistic midfielder, Winful Cobbinah has defended his Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the MTN FA Cup awards night held in Accra on Wednesday evening, saying no player did better than him in the season.
Cobbinah saw off competition from Cup winner Saddick Adams of Asante Kotoko and youngster Isaac Amoah of Amidaus Professionals to win the seventh MVP award.
Described by the Phobian fans as the “live wire”, the 25 year old led his side to the final of the competition where they lost humiliatingly by three goals to one against their sworn rivals Asante Kotoko in Tamale.
The Ghanaian international told the GNA Sports that, the award was a great honour for him though he accepts it will be bring a new challenge on him.
“It is an achievement for me personally. Yeah I deserved it, because I think I played well in the FA Cup and even in the league as a whole,” he noted.
“It would motivate me a lot. As a footballer such award will make me work harder and more to do what I know doing best,” he added.
