Kodie (Ash), Feb 26, GNA – The Afigya-Kwabre South Constituency of the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) has voted to give ringing endorsement to the incumbent Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, for another term.
He polled 590 votes, representing 86 per cent, to beat his only other challenger, Robert Owusu, who had 72 votes, in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).
This was at the party’s delegates congress held at Kodie, the constituency headquarters.
The other elected officers are Christian Adu Poku, first Vice Chairman, Richard Appiah Kubi, second Vice Chairman, Madam Damata Salem, Secretary, Ms. Yaa Konadu, Women’s Organizer, Gerald Best, Organizer, Rachel Boteng, Treasurer and Rexford Mintah, Youth Organizer.
Odeneho Appiah thanked the delegates for the trust and confidence and pledged to continue to work with everybody to win more people over for the party.
He said the democratic and peaceful conduct of the elections was indicative of the unity of purpose among the members and asked that this was sustained.
