Breman Asikuma (C/R) Feb. 21, GNA – Mr Eric Tailor, Chief Executive Officer of Penny Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation has appealed to the youth to shun deviant behaviours that can retard their progress.
Mr Tailor who made the appeal at a reception that his foundation had organised for over One thousand Youth and some aged in Breman Asikuma on valentine day said it was for socialisation and breaking of bread together.
Mr Tailor stated that, the programme was to bring the youth together irrespective of their political affiliations, ethnicity and to remind them that, they were the future leaders of the country and therefore needed to refrain from illicit acts that could jeopardise their future.
He announced that, the Foundation in partnership with the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Assembly were in the process of acquiring over 2000 acres of Land to go into cassava cultivation to feed a factory they would establish to produce starch among other products as part of the ‘One District One Factory project’ by government.
According to him if project takes off, over thousand youth would be employed in its catchment area and urged them to prepare themselves to embrace the programme to earn a living rather than migrating to the Urban Centres to seek for non-existent greener pastures.
He appealed to Chiefs and Custodians of family lands in and around the district not to hesitate to allocate some of their lands for them to commence on the projects when they approach them to help address unemployment in in their areas.
He appealed to the aged to use their rich expertise to help to educate, counsel and to direct the youth to become patriotic citizens wherever they may find themselves in the society.
