Ntiamoah Foundation offers scholarships to nurses

New Abirem (E/R), Nov. 10, GNA - The Ntiamoah Foundation, a non- governmental organization has offered scholarships estimated at GH?22,000,00 to Five nurses of the New Abirem Government Hospital.

The scholarship is part of efforts to help the people of Abirem in the Birim North District access quality healthcare.

The scholarship to covers beneficiaries for the next two years to pursue various health related courses at the universities of their choice.

The recipients were, Madammes Akpene Agbemava, Josephine Lartey, Dorcas Tawiah, Eunice Asante and Alberta Appiah.

Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries, Mr. Robert Kwaku Appiah Asante, the Founder and the Executive Chairman for the Foundation urged them to take advantage of the scholarship to upgrade themselves in the health sector to become more useful to the hospital, the community and the country.

He disclosed that a number 107 poor and needy but brilliants students in the Abirem community and its environs have so far benefitted from the scholarship since its inception in 2006.

He said the foundation’s intervention towards education in the area can now boast of a gynaecologist, a beneficiary of the Foundation’s scholarship scheme, who is currently in his final year at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

He cautioned the beneficiaries to come back to serve in the hospital after their training adding that anyone who goes contrary to that would face the full rigors of the law.

Mr. Asante gave the assurance that, the Foundation would continue to render selfless social services to the poor and vulnerable in the areas of education and health to better the lives of inhabitants in the District.

Speaking in an interview with Madam Eunice Asante, a beneficiary of the Foundation’s Scholarship scheme thanked the Ntiamoah Foundation for the opportunity offered them and promised to return back to serve her community.

She therefore pleaded with the Foundation to organize trainings for nurses of the facility in Anaesthesia to enable them deliver their services effectively.
