The event held over the weekend at the El- Wak Park drew participation from about 3,000 youth in branches from Accra to compete for medals.
The activities, which were contested for include, lime and spoon, football,100 metres race and relay.
At the end of a 20 minutes action parked football played between Ashaiman Central and Kwashiman, the former beat the latter 2-1 on penalties to lift the trophy at stake whist New Mamprobi placed third.
For their efforts, the champions were rewarded with a trophy, boxes of indomie and exercise books from sponsors and medals.
The second and third were also given exercise books, boxes of indomie and medals.
The football gala started at the group stage with eight teams.
In other activities, winners, first runner up and second runner ups in the 100m race, relay, lime and spoon in both male and female categories were also rewarded for their splendid performance.
The Children Ministry coordinator Oracca Tettey said, aside commemorating the 100 years anniversary, the event was also held to foster unity among the youth and create awareness on the need to exercise the body to keep fit.
He added that he was impressed with the performance of the children exhibited in the various disciplines and optimistic that the participants can represent Ghana at the international front if they chose to be athletes.
Mr. Tettey admonished the youth to seek first the kingdom of God and all other things, including riches shall be added.
The Patron of the Nima Area Children Ministry Rev. George Asante expressed excitement that he was glad the aim of the event has been achieved.
Other activities lined up to mark the centenary celebration include the Anim Memorial Lectures, Youth Convention and Blood donation and Women’s Ministry Convention and a thanksgiving service to climax the anniversary on Sunday, November 12 at the Independence Square.
