Cape Coast, May 8, GNA - Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs deepened the woes of struggling Ashanti Gold Sporting Club (SC), when they thrash them 4-1 in the 14th week Ghana Premier League (GPL), match played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Raphel Mensah opened the scoring for Dwarfs in the 13h minute, when he collected a pass from Alhaji Mustapha, after the home side had dominated proceedings from the onset.
Ashanti Gold quickly recovered and equalised four minutes after to make it 1-1 through Prince Owusu in a goal-mouth scramble in the 17th minute.
Dwarfs, determined to carry the day, played one of their best games of the season and launched series of attack in their opponent’s vital area and in the process earned a free kick for Raphel Mensah to make it 2-1 to maintain a first half lead.
They continued to dictate the pace in the second department of the game, forcing Ashanti Gold to make two substitutions but it was not enough to stop the “Abontoa Abontoa” boys.
Dwarfs added two more goals through Joseph Essoh and substitute, Solomon Gyasi in the 55th and 70th minutes respectively.
Dwarfs have now gone three match unbeaten for the first time this season and still remained unbeaten at the Cape Coast Stadium in the premiership since choosing there as their new home grounds.
Ashanti Gold on the other hand, are languishing at the bottom of the league table with just 9 points from 14 league matches.
