Accra, May 03, GNA - Erratic Truth Foundation (ETF), a United States-based non-profit organisation has presented assorted items to the children of the Shekinah Orphanage home at Pamparam in the Greater Accra Region.
The items that included bags of rice, canned foods, cartons of milk, clothing, boxes of cooking oil amongst others would assist operations in the orphanage.
Dr Ros Pobee, a local representative of the ETF who presented the items, said the donation was expected to help relieve the Home of its fiscal and logistics burdens.
He recounted how a pharmacist visited the hospital in Accra where he works, and in the course of their conversation mentioned the numerous challenges the Orphanage faced.
“So I communicated the message to the ETF and we decided to come and assist the Orphanage to cater for the children,” he said.
Dr Pobee said children were special blessing from God whose welfare must not be compromised for any reason at all, adding, “it is no fault of these innocent children to find themselves in the orphanage homes.
“We as an organisation will continue to contribute our quota to their economic, social, physical and spiritual development,” he added.
He advised the children to believe and trust in God to direct their paths and to be obedient, submissive and seek God’s guidance through prayer.
He also urged them to adhere to biblical principles in order to evade undesirable habits which could hinder their development.
Mrs Ellen Annan, the Founder of Shekinah Orphanage, said the home was experiencing difficulties and the timely donation would solve some of the socio-economic challenges facing the inmates.
She commended ETF for the gesture and called on other benevolent institutions and philanthropists to support the home.
The Children sang Christian songs, expressing their thankfulness to ETF.
