Takoradi, April 18, GNA - The Anaji St Francis Electoral Area Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday embarked on a four-hour clean-up exercise in the area.
The clean- up exercise which took place at South Anaji and its environs, a suburb of Takoradi in the Western Region, was to commemorate President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo's 100 days in office.
The exercise enabled the members to de-silt gutters, clear bushes and weed their surroundings.
Present at the function to support and participate in the exercise were Mr John Davies, the Presiding Member (PM) of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) who also doubles as the assemblyman of the Anaji St. Francis electoral area, Mr Samson Buckman the Polling Station Chairman and Mr Ransford Odame Fenning, the constituency chairman.
Mr Kafui Robertson the Public Relations Officer (PRO), for the South Anaji St. Francis Polling Station Youth Wing, said the exercise was to commemorate Nana Addo's 100 days in power and also to discourage the youth from channelling their energy into violent acts but to rather engage in more of voluntary social work.
He used the occasion to appeal to them to exercise restraint and assured them that the President would by all means fulfil the promise of creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youth in the country.
Mr John Davies, the PM for the STMA, expressed his gratitude and admiration for the effort of the youth and urged them to regularly organize such exercises to improve upon the sanitation of the area.
When asked about his achievement so far, he replied “the people in my constituency can best judge me,” and commended them for their support.
