The Amasaman High Court Two has directed counsel for Patricia Asieduaa, popularly known as “Agradaa,” to file her address in the notice of appeal within two weeks.
The Court further ordered that after filing, counsel must serve the Attorney-General for a response ahead of the Court’s consideration.
The matter has been adjourned to December 21, 2025.
This directive followed the attachment of the required documents from the Circuit Court, where she was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for fraud, as earlier instructed by the High Court.
Ahead of the hearing, which was scheduled for November 20, 2025, the Court observed that her records were incomplete and therefore ordered her to provide all documents, especially those relating to the July 3, 2025 sentencing.
On November 20, the Court again could not hear the application due to outstanding records and adjourned to December 4, 2025.
Asieduaa, Founder of the Heaven Way International Ministry, was convicted by an Accra Circuit Court, presided over by Mrs Evelyn Asamoah, for fraud and charlatanic advertisement, although she denied the charges.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emmanuel Haligah told the Court that on October 10, 2022, complainants reported that “Agradaa” collected various sums of money from them under the pretext of providing multiplied returns.
Investigations led to her arrest.
He said five days earlier, she had advertised an all-night service on Today’s TV and social media, promising to distribute GH¢30,000.00 to participants needing funds to settle debts or support businesses, displaying bundles of cash during the advert.
Based on the advert, complainants travelled from across the country to attend the service in Accra.
There, she allegedly instructed them to form groups of 20, with each member required to pay GH¢1,000.00 or more.
The prosecution said she promised that the groups would receive between GH¢25,000.00 and GH¢50,000.00 to share.
Some groups reportedly paid her GH¢25,000.00, while others paid varied amounts.
However, she failed to honour the purported pledge, leaving many participants stranded.
Police investigations concluded that the advertisement was intended to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
ASP Haligah added that Asieduaa had been convicted in a similar case in 2021 and fined GH¢10,000.00 or, in default, sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment.
Following the recent sentencing, defence counsel told journalists they would appeal the decision, describing it as harsh.
Unlike the situation on November 20, when Prison Officers prevented journalists from taking photographs of “Agradaa,” media personnel were allowed on December 4.
Though officers swiftly escorted her from the courtroom to a waiting white prison bus, reporters managed to capture images of her.
