The Tamale Branch of the Project Management Institute (PMI) – Ghana Chapter has held a health screening exercise for residents of Choggu Maanaayili Metropolis in the Northern region.
President of PMI Ghana Chapter, Jumoke Lafenwa, led members of the PMI Ghana Chapter to organise the screening at the Holy Cross Parish in Tamale.
The health screening attended to over 160 people of Choggu Maanaayili and its environs.
Health services offered during the health screening were blood sugar tests, mental health screening, blood pressure (BP) checks, body mass index (BMI) checks, eye screening, and other general health consultations.
The Ghana Chapter, through the Tamale Branch also donated assorted items worth GHc4,400.00 to the Tamale Children’s Home at Nyohini, Tamale.
During the donation, Ms. Lafenwa called on all stakeholders to support the orphanage with cash and in-kind to take care of the children.
She thanked managers and workers of the orphanage for providing a safe home for the children.
Ms. Lafenwa thanked all individuals and entities whose contributions and donations had made it possible to celebrate PMI Ghana’s 10th Anniversary.
The Board of PMI Ghana Chapter chose to decentralize its 10th Anniversary celebration to ensure that all its branches in Ghana participated and also got involved with the communities within their area of work.
The Board and members interacted with participants of the health screening and answered their questions about PMI and activities of the Ghana Chapter.
The Chapter President indicated the Board’s readiness to cooperate with all organisations and individuals in building their capacity to undertake their projects by the highest project management standards.
The Project Management Institute is the world’s largest association of project management professionals with close to 700,000 members in 180 countries.
Membership of PMI chapters comprises both certified and non-certified members. PMI Ghana Chapter has branches in Tamale, Kumasi, Ho, and Takoradi, with the Chapter head office in Accra.
