Members of the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team have said they have lost interest in the government to provide them jobs as they were promised in opposition.
They have, therefore, urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to address their problems.
“It has been nearly four months since power was won, and we have absolutely no indication of faith in the leadership of the communications directorate,” members of the Ashanti Regional communications team wrote officially to suspend their activities until further notice.
“The government by now would have a sense of direction regarding appointments and jobs for our members, who by defending the party on radio, television and other platforms, contributed to the victory.
The regional communications team has appreciated the large number of people from the region now ministers but want to make a case for communication members.
“We also have competencies to be their spokespersons, press secretaries, government appointees and others,” the members stated in a press release.
The communications team took a swipe at the lackadaisical attitude of the party’s communications directors.
“After losing the 2012 polls, Nana Akomeah met and encouraged us to work harder for the party to come to power. After winning the election, we are yet to set an eye on him”.
The group stated in the petition which they copied the Flagstaff House that they would continue to drum home their problems until the government found solutions to them.
