As a devout Christian, Evangelist Joseph Tham could no longer look on as biblical principles and values gradually are becoming more and more degenerated resulting in mass drifting of believers from the faith. So he began a mission to correct the wrongs happening in the church today.
“My inspiration is that I want to correct the errors in the Christian world since people behave differently from what the word of God says,” Tham said.
That journey begins as Tham put together a collection of real-life inspirational testimonies, which are contained in his debut publication, The Wheel, published by Kharis Books.
The launch of the book: ‘The Wheel’
Tham launched The Wheel at a brief ceremony held at the Association of African Universities, Trinity Avenue- East Legon on Sunday, December 9, 2018.
He drew commendation from several persons at the launch, including Rev. Thomas Yawson, an International Songwriter, Worship Leader, Bible School and Seminar lecturer.
Tham said, after gathering many stories and thoughts over a period of three years, it was only fitting to put them in a book.
“God led me to put them in a book that was different, where the concept was different. I decided that if I feel inspired by these stories, then other people must need them.”
He was elated to add ‘author’ to his portfolio though he admitted he has many talents when it comes to the gifts of God’s kingdom.
“I also minister through songs… I will soon tour all university campuses and churches with my book and first song,” he said.
According to Tham, proceeds from the sale of his book would be used to support persons living with sickle cells anaemia.
Meanwhile, Dr. Enam Sefakor Bankas, founder of Sickle Life, who was also in attendance commended Tham for selecting persons with sickle cells anaemia as beneficiaries of some percent of proceeds from the sale of his book.
In her testimony, she admitted it was not easy living with this condition through Junior High School to Medical School.
“At a point, my school decided to kick me out of the boarding house which was a very traumatic thing for me because SHS you know, deboardinisation is the worse punishment ever, right? The worse students, they get to be deboardinised but there I was it was because I was sick,” Bankas said.
The 100-page book combines biblical insights with practical life scenarios to open the eyes of believers to the concept and understanding of prayer to ensure breakthroughs, and spiritual growth.
A foreword on the book as written by Rev. Emmanuel Duah Mensah, Head Pastor, International Central Gospel Church, The Lord Sanctuary, North Legon, says prayer must be understood as a wheel that will take believers to the right destination.
