The Bank of Africa (BOA) has launched a secure and easy-to-use mobile banking app dubbed "B-Mobile".
The new app affords customers of the bank opportunity to undertake banking transactions and enjoy other services while skipping the long queues at banking halls.
Customers can simply download the app onto their mobile devices and begin using this service.
Among other services, B-Mobile users can assess their bank accounts to check their bank balance and transaction history, top-up mobile credit or airtime for themselves and for third parties, carry out intra and interbank transfers, and pay their utility bills such as postpaid electricity bills and DSTV/GO TV bills.
However, customers engaging in external transfers will have to ensure that the recipients of the transfers are on the eTransact switch.
The emergence of mobile banking services is a novelty that is gradually changing the traditional way of banking in Ghana.
It is believed that the adoption of mobile banking solutions by financial service providers in the country will help in driving the country closer to a cashless society, an agenda vigorously being pushed by managers of the economy.
Though the Ghana is yet to fully utilise the immense benefits that mobile banking offers, such efforts and innovations by banks like BOA will go a long way to entrenching mobile banking services in the country.
BOA Ghana is part of the BOA Group, a subsidiary of the 13th largest bank in Africa, BMCE, and has banking operations in 15 African countries.
