Six kindergarten pupils have lost their lives when their classroom room block collapsed at Gyambra in the Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa district of the Central region.
5 of the pupils of the Gyambra Methodist School died on the spot while another died at the Asikuma Government Hospital.
Several others are also in critical condition and therefore being monitored closely by doctors at the facility.
The building which collapsed is an uncompleted story building and the kids were studying at the ground floor.

Eyewitnesses indicate that the building had developed cracks but what is unclear is whether authorities at the school were aware of such cracks.
Authorities in the school have however declined comments on the matter.
