
The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects for preparing to commit robbery near Asankraguah, in the Western Region.
This is contained in a post on the Ghana Police Service’s Facebook page.
“The suspects, identified as Mohammed Abdul-Salam (28) and Karim Yakubu (42), were spotted hiding in a bush along a section of the road. Upon noticing a police patrol team, they attempted to flee the scene prompting a swift pursuit by the police officers,” a portion of the post on April 15 read.
It added that “The pursuit led to an abandoned mining site where the suspects jumped into a muddy pit in an attempt to evade capture. However, the Police officers managed to rescue them from the pit and successfully arrested them.”
According to the Police, “A search conducted at the time of the arrest led to the retrieval of: One shotgun, Three AAA cartridges and One Nokia keypad mobile phone
“The suspects are currently in police custody assisting investigations,” the Police said.
