Former Ghana Black Stars star Kevin-Prince Boateng has embarked on a new journey, this time off the pitch, with the launch of his football agency, Rookie & Champ.
The Berlin-born playmaker, who had an eventful club career across Europe ( representing 15 clubs),playing for top clubs like AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur, Hertha BSC, and La Liga giants Fc Barcelona aims to nurture young talents, particularly from his native Berlin, and guide them towards global success.
Boateng, known for his exceptional talent and charisma, will draw from his own experiences, both highs and lows, to advise young players on how to avoid the pitfalls he encountered during his playing career.
“At 18, I turned pro, and I was loving every minute of it,” he recalled during a TransferRoom summit. “But then I was sent to Tottenham, and just ten days in, the coach told me he didn’t want me.”
This turning point in his career sparked a lifelong dream to provide young players with the guidance he never received.
“Money, fame, or joining a big club isn’t always the right move,” Boateng emphasized.
“That’s why I want to share my experience and be there for my boys.” He added with conviction, “With Rookie & Champ, we have a player who’s ready for everything at 18. He’s prepared to take a penalty in front of 50,000 fans.”
Reflecting on what could have been, Boateng said, “If I had had this kind of support, I would have played for Real Madrid for ten years straight. Absolutely.”
Rookie & Champ is more than just an agency – it’s a mission driven by an individual who’s lived the game at its highest level and knows what it takes to succeed.
With Rookie & Champ, Boateng is not only building a business – he’s building futures.
