Ghanaian artiste, Safo Newman has disclosed that he has been advised to use illegal drugs in order to boost his performance on stage.
The ‘Akokoa’ hitmaker said despite the advice, he is adamant to do anything that could keep him from his true self.
“People have actually recommended that I should do some of these things [drugs] so that I will go wild [on stage].
“I won’t be doing that. I don’t think I can do that,” he said in an interview on Hitz FM, November27, 2024 while discussing criticisms about his lack of energy on stage during performance.
Safo has received harsh criticism for his sense of style and dull performance on stage since he gained popularity with his song “Akokoa” earlier this year.
However, he noted that he is working to strengthen his shortcomings as he continues to create inspiring songs for his fans.
Safo Newman who has other songs such as Miss Issabela, Sorrow Fly, March Past and All the Way, is currently out with a song titled ‘NPP, NDC’ to preach peace ahead of the December elections.
