The government has been working to improve the condition of health workers in the country, Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr Anthony Nsia Asare, has said.
Asked what the government doing to address the issue of brain drain, Dr Nsia Asare said on the Hot Issues on TV3 on Sunday June 9 with Kemmini Amanor “We are in a free world where you can’t force anyone to stay in your country. The government is continually working to improve the condition of health workers.”

Asked again about the state of the Agenda 111 project to build hospitals across the districts, he said that the government deserves a clap for the construction of the hospitals.
He states that the policy of referral centers under the project is the first of its kind in the world.

The government hopes to employ 500 staff per hospital for facilities under construction, he added.
Dr Nsia Asare also stated there are a good number of projects under Agenda 111 that are 90 percent complete.
He said that for the first time in the country under the Aganda 111 project, the government is constructing two.

“For the first time in our country under Agenda 111, we are constructing two mental health facilities in Tamale and Ejisu. The one in Tamale is 90 percent complete.”
“This is the first time a government is working to provide the basic primary health referral centers for all districts. I think we deserve a clap,” he added.
