Hiplife musician Article Wan last Saturday teamed up with well-known group, Buz Stop Boys to clean up several communities in Accra as part of a sanitation campaign.
The Buz Stop Boys have recently been leading a sanitation campaign in Accra cleaning communities and bus stops in Accra.
The group comprises of ten young men who have volunteered to embark on clean-up activities in filthy areas in Accra making them well-known on social media.
The young volunteers have so far cleaned several communities in Accra within the last few months and Article Wan deemed it fit to support the initiative last Saturday, April 6.
Article Wan commended the team, urging the youth to stand up for the change they want to see.
“The system is not working and we can’t depend on our leaders but to go on the streets to get the work done. Besides, sanitation is not a blame game as it has always been, but if we stand up to clear the streets, our health would be safer,” he said.
“This is something that is personal to me and today was the right day for me join forces with them (The Buz Stop Boys) to make a difference. Big respect to the young men who have dedicated themselves to fight for a better, cleaner environment in Ghana,” he wrote in Facebook post.
The team had concerns about several pieces of equipment that were required to make the cleaning procedure easier throughout the cleanup exercise.
The award winning hitmaker joined the boys to clear the sand-choked gutters at the Dzorwulu Footbridge and moved next to Abbosey Okai.
Article Wan shared his enthusiasm for waste management and sanitation education to contribute to the growth of the country.
Consequently, he is initiating his waste management and sanitation awareness program endeavor in Ghana through this platform.
