The Ghanaian quartet of Sean Safo-Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Emmanuel Oduro-Manu, and Joseph Paul Amoah advanced to the men’s 4×100-metre relay final at the World Athletics Championships on Friday night.
They qualified for the final by finishing third in Heat 1 behind USA and Great Britain with a season-best time of 38.58s.
Nigeria got disqualified.
USA’s foursome of Christian Coleman, Noah Lyles, Elijah Hall and Marvin Bracy were the fastest qualifiers on the night with a world-leading time of 37.87.
Ghana earned an automatic qualifying spot thanks to Joseph Paul Amoah’s impressive time of 8.22 seconds.
Amoah’s time of 8.22 seconds was the best among the heats.
The final is set for Sunday, July 23 at 2:50 a.m. local time.
