About 46 workers of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company Limited have tested positive for Covid-19.
In a memo issued by the Managing Director, Edwin Provencal, this was known after all 162 staff at the head office were tested.
“Due to this result, the contact tracing unit will be calling all the staff who have tested positive to start self-isolation immediately.”
The head office has been closed, as a result.
Last week, the Minister of Information raised concerns about the increasing cases of Covid-19 at work places including factories and industries.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah therefore admonished workers to adhere to the safety protocols in order to slow the “predominant” spread of Covid-19 at work places.
Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen led a presentation to issue guidelines to industries and factories from then.
“If our factories and industries are not practising this measure, they are required to practise it now and that is the important message that we are carrying across today,” Mr Kyerematen stressed at the bi-weekly update of the Ministry of Information on Thursday, June 25.
