Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL) has presented 100,000 cedis to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund.
Officials of the company Mr Daniel Ohene Obeng, Corporate Affairs Manager and , Mr Jeff Tetteh, Communication Officer, on Tuesday handed a cheque for the amount to the Ministry of
Also, the waste management giant is contributing 20,000 dollars to support the University of Ghana Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research in fighting against the 2019 deadly virus.
Presenting the cheque, Mr Ohene Obeng said it formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility of helping government to curtail the pandemic, and also to support the vulnerable in society.
He called for a collective effort to support the government’s efforts in containing the spread of the virus.
Mr Ohene Obeng assured that Zoomlion will not relent in its efforts in supporting the government to fight the virus.
He said it is on the back of that the company has since the ourbreak in the country on March 12 been supporting with disinfection and fumigation of public tertiary institutions as well as state agencies and institutions.
Receiving the cheque, Information Minister Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah expressed the government’s gratitude to Zoomlion Ghana Limited for the gesture and commended the company for its continuous support to government to curb the pandemic.
Ghana’s Covid-19 situation
Ghana’s tally crossed the 2,000-mark in Ghana Thursday with a staggering 403 new cases within the last 48 hours. The country’s count now stands at 2,074.
The number of recoveries from the virus has also moved up from the previous 188 to 212 with one more death to bring the fatalities in the country to 17, new figures released by the Ghana Health Service has shown.
