The chief executive of Oceanwave Group of Companies, Engineer Yao Gomado, has joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries to unseat the incumbent MP for Akan constituency, Aziz Muniru.
The marine engineer is hopeful of winning the Akan constituency primary to represent the people in the area in the 2020 parliamentary elections on the ticket of the NDC.
Five individuals have been cleared by the party to contest the primary in the constituency in August this year. They are Eric Kwadwo Apeadu, Aziz Muniru (incumbent), Ing. Yao Gomado, Sam Suraj and Ahmed Muniru Orenzo.
Ing. Gomado is seen by many as a philanthropist and the man with the endearing social appeal to unite the NDC in the Akan constituency of the Oti Region, and effectively mobilize grassroots support to retain the seat for the party as well as maximize the presidential votes for John Mahama.
The Akan constituency parliamentary seat has switched between the NDC and two independent candidates in the fourth republican Parliament.
Ing. Gomado assured the rank and file of the party of an inclusive, decent and issues based campaign from his camp.
He expressed gratitude to his constituents and all well-wishers for their support and prayers which spurred his conviction to lead the NDC as its parliamentary candidate in the 2020 general elections.
