Ghana Police Service has denied news making rounds that the three girls who were kidnapped in Takoradi months ago have been rescued.
There were news publications on Wednesday, April 24 that the three girls were found and were receiving medical care at the BNI Clinic in Accra.
In a post on the Service’s official Twitter page, the publications were deemed false and are to be disregarded.
“The attention of the Police Administration has been drawn to a newspaper report in the Daily Guide edition of Wednesday April 24, 2019 titled ‘T’di Girls Rescued’ and wish to state that the report is false and cannot be confirmed by the Police.”

According to the police, efforts have been put into ensuring that the girls are found and safely returned to their respective families.
The three kidnapped girls went missing late last year, and there has been a lot of back-and-forth between the police and families.
The latter have accused the police of not putting in enough effort to rescue the girls.
A few weeks ago, Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah said her outfit knew the whereabouts of the kidnapped girls, but three weeks down the line, there is no information on the girls.
