Black Maidens receive safeguarding and financial management guidance

The Black Maidens took part in an empowerment programme focused on safeguarding, financial management and personal development on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Held under the theme “Protect Your Dream”, the session was designed to help the young players prepare for challenges both during their football careers and in their personal lives.

Safeguarding Officer Bernice Bempah led the first part of the programme, encouraging the players to protect their ambitions by understanding their rights and remaining alert to the environment around them.

Her presentation highlighted the importance of awareness and personal protection as the players continue their development.

Former Nigerian national team goalkeeper Precious Dede then delivered a practical session on financial management and discipline.

Dede advised the players to develop the habit of saving, regardless of the amount available to them. “No amount is too small to save,” she told the Black Maidens.

She also explained why discipline is essential to a player’s progress, stressing that maintaining the right attitude both on and off the pitch is important for achieving long-term success.

The programme is part of continuing efforts to provide the Black Maidens with life skills that extend beyond football. Its aim is to ensure the players are better equipped to manage their futures as well as their careers in the sport.
