Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko has made it clear that his side will not relent in their pursuit of the Ghana Premier League title, insisting that the job is not yet done despite holding a two-point lead at the top.
Speaking after Medeama's hard-fought 1-0 away win over Basake Holy Stars, Tanko stressed that his players must remain focused until the very last match.
"We have to go till the end to be sure that we have won the league. So definitely, we are going to take the rest of the games seriously," Tanko said.
The victory, which came despite a missed penalty from standout midfielder Salim Adams, kept Medeama firmly in control of the title race with three games remaining. Their closest rivals, Bibiani Gold Stars, trail by two points.
Tanko revealed that constant conversations with his players have been essential in managing the mounting pressure.
"We had to have a lot of conversations with them because of the pressure, but I think they did very well," he added.
Medeama will next face Kpando Heart of Lions at home on Sunday, May 17. For Tanko and his charges, the message is clear: full concentration until the final whistle of the season.
