President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has called on the country to support the newly appointed Black Stars coach, Carlos Queiroz, ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The 73-year-old will lead the four-time African champions to the Mundial this summer following the dismissal of Otto Addo.
The former Egypt, Portugal and South Africa head coach has been handed a four-month contract.
Speaking to the media during the official introduction to the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, ahead of the official unveiling of the former Manchester United assistant coach, Mr Okraku, implored the public to support Queiroz to be able to achieve success.
"Carlos Queiroz is part of us now, and he needs our support, and he needs all of us to continue working hard to ensure that we achieve success on the pitch for Mother Ghana," he said.
Black Stars management committee members and Executive Council members of the Football Association were all present during the official introduction to the Sports Minister.
Carlos Queiroz will begin his reign with games against Mexico and Wales as part of the preparatory games ahead of the global showpiece.
The Black Stars, who are making their fifth appearance at the World Cup, have been housed in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before taking on England on June 23, and wrapping their games against Croatia on June 27.
After group phase elimination in 2014 and 2022, Carlos Queiroz will be hoping to guide the Black Stars to success at the tournament.
