Former Ghana FA Communications Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara has appealed to Ghanaians to rally behind new Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz as the team heads into the 2026 FIFA World Cup with limited preparation time.
Queiroz, confirmed in the role on 13 April, has been handed a short-term task of leading Ghana into a difficult group that includes England, Croatia and Panama.
While backing the team, Sannie Daara admitted he is unsure how much impact the Portuguese coach can make within a few weeks.
“I doubt Carlos Queiroz can improve the Black Stars in just three weeks,” he told JoySports.
“I have my serious doubts, but as Ghanaians and people who love this country, we must do whatever we can to ensure the nation succeeds. We can do that by giving unwavering support to the team and providing him with whatever he needs to succeed. If he succeeds, it is Ghanaians who succeed.”
Ghana begin their campaign against Panama on 17 June in Toronto, before taking on Croatia and England in what is expected to be a demanding group-stage run.
