Danish-Ghanaian attacker Osman Addo came off the bench to score a stoppage-time clincher as Viborg earned a hard-fought 2â0 away win over Sønderjyske in the Superligaen Championship Round.
Viborg had to stay patient at Sydbank Park, only breaking the deadlock three minutes after half-time when Lukas Kirkegaard headed in from a Sami Jalal Karchoud cross on 48 minutes.
Sønderjyske pushed for an equaliser and created chances of their own in an open second half, but Viborg’s defence held firm under growing pressure. Addo was introduced in the 80th minute and immediately gave the visitors fresh energy in attack with his movement and willingness to run in behind.
His moment arrived in the first minute of added time, when Thomas Jørgensen slipped a clever pass into the box and Addo finished calmly to make it 2â0 and wrap up the points for Viborg. The goal continues a promising 2025/26 Superligaen campaign for Addo, who now has 6 league appearances, 2 goals to his name.
Viborg will look to carry that momentum into their next fixture, a home game against Nordsjælland on Sunday, April 19.
