President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has assured that the Black Stars will make Ghanaians proud at the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
The four-time African champions will compete at this year's tournament, which the USA, Canada and Mexico will co-host.
The Black Stars will come up against Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.
Despite back-to-back group-phase eliminations in Brazil and Qatar in 2014 and 2022, respectively, Mr Okraku, speaking at the launch of the Black Stars Fundraising Campaign at the Kempinski Hotel on Friday, March 20, ahead of the tournament, expressed confidence that the team will make the nation proud.
“Today, we are very confident that the intangible assets that we have produced over time, the intangible assets that have been put together by coach [Otto] Addo and his team, we will make Ghana proud," he said.
“We will go into this tournament with our chest up, ready to fight for the strip and ready to change our story. We fear no foe and believe me, Ghana football will speak," Okraku added.
The Black Stars will kick off their campaign against Panama on June 17, face England on June 23, and conclude the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
