Asante Kotoko will host Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in the headline fixture of the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 this weekend.
Both sides have enjoyed solid but unspectacular league campaigns and, with Medeama SC showing strong title credentials in the Premier League, the FA Cup represents a realistic route to silverware and continental qualification.
Kotoko are the defending champions and will be eager to retain the trophy, while Aduana, who are yet to win the competition, will view this tie as an opportunity to push for a historic triumph.
The two teams come into the clash on the back of mixed league results. Kotoko suffered a defeat away to Heart of Lions, while Aduana were held by FC Samartex 1996, with both sides missing the chance to close the gap at the top. Their earlier league meeting at the same venue ended evenly, a result that should boost Aduana’s confidence, especially with Kotoko not at their strongest form currently.
Elsewhere, Premier League side Eleven Wonders face last season’s semi-finalists Attram De Visser, while two-time winners Medeama SC take on Samartex in an all-Western derby expected to produce an entertaining contest.
Techiman Liberty Youth meet Real Tamale United, Nations FC face Swedru All Blacks, and Berekum Chelsea take on Tamale City.
Former champions Dreams FC will battle Inter Allies, while Heart of Lions come up against second-tier side True Life FC, who eliminated Hearts of Oak in the previous round.
Quarter-final matches are scheduled for March 13 to 16, the semi-finals from April 17 to 20, with the MTN FA Cup final set for the weekend of May 30 to 31, 2026.
