Ghanaian teenager Kwesi Sorotu Badori has returned home to complete work permit formalities after sealing a move to Italian Serie A side Bologna from Berekum Chelsea.
The 18-year-old midfielder finalised the transfer during the winter window, signing for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
However, his immediate integration into the Italian club’s youth ranks has been delayed while he resolves documentation required to legally begin his professional career in Italy.
Bologna confirmed the acquisition as part of their continued investment in emerging talents, with the agreement including an option to make the deal permanent if the youngster impresses.
Club officials are expected to monitor his progress closely once he rejoins their development structure.
Badori earned the move following consistent performances in the Ghana Premier League, where he developed a reputation for technical ability, composure in midfield and maturity beyond his years.
The midfielder has enjoyed steady progress at Berekum Chelsea, making 14 league appearances this season and scoring twice, an improvement on his debut campaign when he registered one goal in 29 matches.
His displays attracted interest from several European clubs, including Swiss side FC Basel and teams in Denmark.
Once his work permit is secured, Badori is expected to return to Italy to begin adapting to Bologna’s system as he pursues his breakthrough in European football.
