The Ghana national fire service in the Ashanti region has urged the public to be safety conscious while they go about their Easter festivities.
The service specifically wants the public to be extra responsible with the use of their electrical gadgets in the wake of the frequent power surges.
The fire service is also demanding that drivers obey all road regulations and avoid excessive speeding.
Speaking to host Julius Caesar Anadem on the Ultimate Breakfast Show, the director of Operations of the GNFS, DO2 Francis Darko Konor further called for the proper use of fire and gas for the increased activities of cooking during the festive season.
Users of electrical equipment, naked fires and other things that can cause fire must be properly handled so that we can have a free and safe Easter.
For people who go outing, they should ensure that their homes are well secured; all gas sources and electrical gadgets should be turned off before they leave.
He however assured that the fire service will be on stand-by to attend to any emergency situation throughout the festive season.
