The area head of Koforidua Church of Pentecost in the Eastern Region, Apostle Eric Nyamekye has been elected as the church’s national chairman.
He was elected at the church’s general council meeting which is currently underway in Accra.
Apostle Nyamekye polled 147 ‘Yes’ votes out of the total 151 votes. Only four people voted “No”.
Apostle Nyamekye will replace Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah who is retiring on Saturday May 5, 2017.
A retirement service at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) will be held on August 26, 2018, for Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah as he marks his 42nd year in the ministry.
The 64-year-old outgoing Chairman who is the fifth Chairman of the Church succeeded Apostle Dr. Michael Ntumy.
He has served 10 years, beginning from 2008 to date.
As part of the church’s process to elect a new chairman, its Electoral College on Thursday, May 3, 2018, held an election in Accra at the Electoral College to decide on the Chairman nominee.
The church will soon issue a press release to announce the news to the World.
