The Ghana Black Satellites team that won the 2009 Under-20 World Cup against Brazil have been called upon to receive the invested GH?10,000 as part of their bonuses for emerging victorious at the youth tournament.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in a statement released today January 10, 2024, confirmed that SAS Finance Group has written to the Association to invite 21 players to receive their matured investments from the money invested over 15 years.
A total investment of GHc210,000 was made on behalf of the 21 players, with each player allocated GHc10,000 by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2009. Per the GFA statement, the investment officially matured on January 4, 2025.
The GFA statement highlighted key parts of the letter it received from the SAS Finance Group.
This investment has matured after 15 years, and the players can now collect their cheques from the SAS Office in Accra, starting from January 8, 2025.
To collect their cheques, players must present a valid Ghana Card for identification purposes. If a player is unable to collect their cheque personally, they can authorize a third party to do so by presenting a notarized Power of Attorney.
This investment package also included an annual insurance cover to cater for life and health-related expenses for each player over the 15-year period, according to the GFA statement.
