The 8th governing council of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ghana has been inaugurated with a pledge to develop strategic partnerships to improve the institute and the sector.
Comprising 16 members, the President of the Council is Mark Amoamah, an engineer, who is leading the Institute for a second two-year term.
In his inaugural address at the handover ceremony, Mr Amoamah said the new council would build on the achievement over the last two years and seek the interest of the institute and the country.
He said by deepening stakeholder collaboration through strategic partnerships, the institute would be able to shape government policies to resolve issues in the sector for the benefit of all.
Mr Amoamah said the council would work to uplift the institute, develop work plans and position the institute as the most preferred organisation for everyone in the industry.
He listed achievements by the previous council to include enhanced image of the institute locally and globally, membership strength increase and diversification, decentralisation of activities, hosting of the 2023CILT Africa Forum and promotion of special interest groups.
A fellow of CILT Ghana, Dr Doris Owusu Fianko, who chaired the ceremony, congratulated both the outgoing council for the good work done and urged the new council to bring their individual expertise to the fore to achieve the objectives of the institute.
Members of the council are Lackson Legah (Vice President- Finance), Dr Andrews Osei Mensah (Vice President – Education &Professional Dev), Alhaji Saaka Dumba (Vice President – Road), Ephraim Asare (Vice President – Logistics), Daniel Frimpong-Manso (Vice President – Rail), Naa Densua Aryeetey (Vice President – Maritime), Patrick Andoh (Executive Member), Dr Ebo Hammond (Immediate Past President).
Others Are Maxwell Zah (Chairman – Tema Section), Ebenezer O. Adjei (Chairman – Accra Section), Clement Kubakwana (Chairman – Takoradi Section), David Antwi (Chairman – Kumasi Section), Emmanuel KankamBoadu (Chairman – Sunyani Section), Lynda Owusu-Afriyie (Chairman – Wilat) and Oliver Bowers (Chairman – Next Generation)
