Korle Bu Paediatric Intensive Care Unit receives support

The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the Kor­le-Bu Teaching Hos­pital has received medical equipment from Mybitstore, a cryptocurren­cy trading platform, as part of its corporate social initiative.

The items, which were received by the Senior Nursing Officer, Ms Paulina Hammond, and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer (DCNO), Ms Evelyn Kumah, on Monday included drip stands, suction units, microwaves, and other medical devices.

Mr Daniel Darko, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, making the presentation, said the compa­ny was committed to ensuring the wellbeing of the next generation of cryptocurrency users, including chil­dren, hence the decision to support the hospital.

Mr David Deuces, Brand Am­bassador of Mybitstore, said the company would continue to identify pressing needs and support the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in any way possible.

Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, Ms Evelyn Kumah, commended the company for the initiative and encouraged other organisations to complement the government’s ef­fort in providing quality health care for citizens.

“Our children are our future, and if they are not healthy, then we have no future,” she said.

Mr Ernest Pappoe, Director of Communications at Mybitstore, said, “The cryptocurrency message must be delivered to everyone, including those in the health sector”.

Thanking staff at the unit for their dedicated services, he stated that public education was the only means to dispel myths and encour­age people to adopt digital curren­cies and payment methods.
