Asante Kotoko management has called for an emergency meeting with the technical team led by Abdul Karim Zito following the teams’ elimination from the Ghana FA Cup competition.
The Porcupine Warriors succumbed to a penalty shootouts defeat to Aduana FC in the round of 16 of the Cup competition after a pulsating goalless draw in regular time at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
The defeat sees Asante Kotoko bow out of the FA Cup, while Aduana FC advance to the quarterfinal of the competition.
However, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) led by Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah has summoned the technical team to a crucial meeting on Monday, February 9, 2026 to discuss the teams’ elimination and inconsistent performance in the current campaign.
Prior to this match, the IMC leader had fired a stern warning to the playing body over possible changes to the team should the team falter against Aduana FC and Hearts of Oak.
The management of the club, who appears not to be impressed with the teams performance ar expected to take major decisions after the meeting.
Kotoko have now suffered back-to-back defeats after falling short to Heart of Lions in the week 21 of the Ghana Premier League.
Having succumbed to a defeat to Aduana FC, Kotoko will now shift their attention to the Super Clash against Hearts of Oak, scheduled for Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
