Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has credited Albert Amoah’s transformed attitude as the defining factor in the striker’s impressive return to the Porcupine Warriors.
Amoah, who began the 2025-26 season in fine form with Kotoko before moving to Libyan side Al-Ahly Benghazi, returned to Kumasi after a three-month stint abroad. He immediately made an impact, scoring an acrobatic overhead kick in Kotoko’s 3-0 triumph over Basake Holy Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium, helping end a brief slump that had seen the team register two draws and a 2-1 defeat to Swedru All-Blacks.
Zito highlighted the personal growth Amoah experienced during his time abroad, saying, “Approach, his attitude has changed, the attitude change. When you go to play abroad, certain things will force you to change your attitude and that is money.”
He added, “If you don’t do it, they will deduct it. What they normally do is they deduct money because they pay you more so the approach to the game is quite different even though it’s the same Amoah we all know.”
The Ghanaian forward’s renewed focus and professional approach have injected fresh energy into Kotoko’s attacking line.
