Former Hearts of Oak centre-back Michael Awuah Mensah has reportedly completed a move to Berekum Chelsea, signing a one-year contract.
Awuah, 24, joined Hearts of Oak from Nations FC last season but struggled to cement a regular place in the Phobians’ backline. His stint in Accra was cut short after new head coach Didi Dramani deemed him surplus to requirements as part of the club’s restructuring process.
The defender now seeks a fresh start in Berekum, where he is expected to strengthen Chelsea’s rearguard, according to KickGH.
The Bibires, who endured a difficult campaign last season, believe Awuah’s experience and physical presence will add depth and stability to their squad.
Despite limited playing time at Hearts, Awuah was noted for his tough tackling and aerial ability, attributes that Berekum Chelsea are counting on as they aim to climb the league table.
