Nkabom polo team defeated their Nkosuo counterparts 7-6 to lift the inaugural Nana Awuah Darko Cup played at the Accra Polo Club last Saturday.
The event was played in honour of the late Nana Awuah-Darko, the first black captain of the club, who passed away eight years ago, and saw two of his children, Harold Awuah Darko and Daniel Awuah Darko participating  in the competition.
Nkabom, captained by Daniel Awuah-Darko, and including players such as Jamil Ibrahim, Eric Gene and Mariano Darritchon, started the first chukker on a bad note after going down by two goals in the first five minutes.
Nkosuo, captained by Harold Awuah-Darko, had a good start through goals from Craig James and Pablo Vila, but later surrendered in the second and third chukkers.
Eric Gene and Jamil Ibrahim combined effectively to pull even for Nkabom, while Craig James and Awuah Darko David also combined effectively to make the score 5-4 in the second chukker.
