The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, welcomed the African Union Commission’s (AUC) Pre-Election Assessment Mission to Ghana at his office in Accra.
Led by Hon. Lady Justice (Rtd.) Effie Owuor, Chair of the Panel of the Wise, the delegation is in the country to evaluate Ghana’s preparedness for the upcoming General Elections on December 7, 2024.
Mr Quartey assured the team of Ghana’s readiness, highlighting Government’s efforts to ensure a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful electoral process.
He emphasised the importance of international collaboration in promoting democracy and stability in Africa, appreciating the AUC’s support and expertise.
Chair of the Panel of the Wise, Hon. Lady Justice (Rtd.) Effie Owuor expressed satisfaction with Ghana’s preparations, noting the mission will continue engaging with key stakeholders to assess electoral preparedness.
