The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has assured the delegation from the West African Elders Forums led by former President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan of his commitment to a peaceful election.
He says he is prepared to help Ghana preserve peace and harmony.
Dr Bawumia said in a Facebook post after he welcomed to the Jubilee House, on Monday October 7 H.E. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, and the delegation of the West African Elders Forum (WAEF), an initiative of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, which works on the promotion of democracy, peace and security in the sub-Region.
President Jonathan’s delegation, which also included H.E. Kadre Desire Quadraago, former President of the ECOWAS Commission, is in the country on a pre election mission, and our discussion centred on ensuring a peaceful election process in Ghana.
Dr Bawumia wrote that after the engagement that “Ghana is one of the most peaceful countries in the sub-Region, and I reiterated my commitment to a peaceful election process, to help preserve the peace and harmony of our country.”
