The Ghana Police Service has said it is investigating the destruction of a structure in Pusiga in the Upper East Region by some youth in the community.
The incident happened on Saturday 22nd June 2024.
The Police explained that it was as a result of a misunderstanding between the youth and some elders of the community, contrary to reports that it was a political issue that caused it.
“The Police would therefore like to caution the public against disinformation which has the tendency to cause fear and panic,” a statement by the Police said.
The statement added, “The Police are working with all stakeholders in the community to get the matter resolved while efforts are ongoing to get the perpetrators behind the destruction and the disinformation arrested to face justice.”
